Rarely, a brilliant specimen would be thrown into a pile as a part of a larger transaction; the savvy bank teller understood these were much more valuable than the other coins in the lot, and would exchange another coin of identical face value with the newest addition to his hoard. It was not until years later that his family uncovered these massive holdings and went to sell, discovering the immense value of his treasure. For the first time since the 1800s, these hand-picked coins will now see the light of day! ☀️
