Charles Richardson, a disillusioned civil servant in Salt Lake City, is unable to move on from a brief but intense affair with a former coworker, Laura, who has since returned to her husband. Haunted by obsession and romantic idealism, Charles spirals into delusion—building a dollhouse replica of her home and enlisting his best friend in a misguided scheme to win her back. As he battles loneliness, family dysfunction, and unrequited love, Charles is forced to confront the reality behind the fantasy he's clung to for too long.
