In 2008 my family took me on a trip to Tanzania, Africa. I had never been to Africa and I had never tried to make a film of a trip. I was so excited to film the animals there I bought a relatively cheap video camera and decided to document the trip. Looking back on this film I see not only one of the most magical places on earth I long to return to but where I have come since then as an artist. Creating great films is not for the faint of heart - or anything great. I am not an overnight success. If you look at this video and compare it to my latest from Alaska (   • Alaska: Anchorage to Seward - Travel ...  ) you will probably see an artist who has sharpened his craft technically over thousands of hours of work, but who also has never steered away from putting his heart into it. After watching this film and getting a taste of Tanzania, Africa from 2008 stay tuned for a short discussion about becoming a successful artist and what has helped me a long the way. On this trip we visited the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, immersed ourselves in the ways of the Maasai, and hot air ballooned over the Serengeti.
