In this second part of our Graceland Cemetery tour we present video and photos of seven more notable tombstones and monuments. They are in order of appearances:
John W. Gary of whom not much is known but he must have had some money because his monument is at the foot of the bridge that leads to “Burnham island”.

 Charles L. Hutchinson  no relationship to the man of the same name who was one of the founders of the Art Institute of Chicago
The artist who created this monument was Alfeo Faggi (1885-1966) and it features the central figure of Christ surrounded by four figures and the Cross, visible in the right corner.

Bruce Goff an American architect known for his organic, eclectic, and often flamboyant designs for houses and other buildings. Among his fans was Frank Lloyd Wright who he thought creative someone who scorned houses that are ‘boxes with little holes”.

Lucius George Fisher, Jr Architect. He was a Chicago, Illinois paper company magnate and architect. In 1895, he commissioned the Daniel Burnham and Company to build the 20 story, 275 foot tall Fisher Building in the loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. Completed in 1896, the landmark Fisher Building is the oldest 20 story building in Chicago that has not been demolished. 

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, 1886 -1969
Designer of the Federal Center in the Loop and other less is more designs. The leader of the International Style spent his life perfecting the “universal” building. His granite marker was designed by his grandson, architect Dirk Lohan.

The William M. Hoyt family monument Mr. Hoyt was a successful grocer who lost four a daughter and three grandchildren in the Iroquois Theater fire in 1903 the husband/father died two months later from grief.

Frederick Wacker an early Chicago mover and shaker who has one of the cities more unique streets named after him.
