ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Whay Dogs Eat Plums And The Best Fruit For Dogs
The flesh of the plum is safe for dogs to eat, however, always remove the plum stone at it will potentially become a choking hazard and contains cyanogenic glycosides (cyanide) which is toxic.

While plums are healthy, loaded with vitamin C, Iron, fiber, antioxidants and polyphenols, the high sugar content means it must be served in moderation and never given to diabetic dogs for the same reason.

Sugar is not harmful in small quantities. But the issue is that most dogs are much smaller than us, and what to us is a small amount of sugar, can actually be a serious overdose for dogs. In the long term, repeated consumption of large amounts of sugar can cause diabetes.

The bottom line is, plums are fine for dogs to eat as long as you’re controlling which parts of the fruit they're having. The flesh needs to be ripe, only given in small quantities and always discard the stone.

Here's 5 reasons why fruit in general is good for dogs:
1 Today it's written in scientific stone, that fruit and vegetables protect humans from diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. And it's the polyphenols, naturally occurring compounds in fruit and plants, that provide the health benefits.

While polyphenols can't be digested by dogs, they do get to the gut, where trillions of healthy bacteria living in the colon, eat the polyphenols.

2 Polyphenols from fruits and berries have been studied and shown to inhibit cancer cell formation, cell growth and division. One such study showed reduced bacteria activity linked to colon cancer.

Polyphenols have been shown to drive toxic amounts of free radicals into cancer cells to kill them.

3 The inflammation caused by free radical damage from toxins, diet and inevitably oxygen itself as a by-product of breathing can be much reduced by the polyphenols as they fight oxidative stress.

Polyphenols like curcumin and resveratrol are powerful free radical scavengers and help fight oxidative stress, helping your dogs body to stay balanced and healthy.

4 Polyphenols act as a liver detoxer. The liver is the largest cleaning organ in your dogs body and the most critical. It filters out incoming toxins, expels them and produces important nutrients.

Some fat soluble toxins are tough to shift, sticking to liver cells and build up along with other free radicals and polyphenols have been shown to remove these toxins by making their byproducts water soluble and easier to expel from the body.

5 Polyphenols reduce long term low-grade inflammation. If your dog gets sick or hurt, their immune system uses acute inflammation to send immune cells to the problem area to control disease and repair damaged tissues.
This is always a short term action and over pretty quickly.
