Component Failure within a GM Strut
Due to a potential component failure within a GM strut, a condition can surface if the vehicle is left on a side by side lift for too long of a period. If the front struts on certain vehicles are left fully extended it is possible for sediment, which is suspended in the fluid, to settle into the orifice holes of the piston and create a hydrostatic lock. Once the vehicle is lowered the front end will remained raised and not returned to normal. While driving the vehicle the ride will also be harsh.
