Why I took a 50% pay cut for a data science internship || The field of data science is highly competitive, and as time goes on and more people try to get into the field, it only becomes harder to break into. Because I don't have a traditional statistics or computer science background, I decided to use an internship to switch careers while I pursue my master's degree (and take a 50% pay cut in the meantime). Although I am using this to transition from finance to data science, a similar approach would be effective for any professional career.
