It was 1980 in Minnesota when Mary and Beth Stauffer headed to the hair salon. When this mother and daughter didn't return home, they were reported missing by Mary's husband Irving. However, the police didn't seem to want to look into it and appeared frazzled and preoccupied. It would turn out that was because another case was happening in the area of a missing boy named Jason Wilkman. While searching in the last place he had been seen, investigators would find Mary's license plate. They realized that these two cases were possibly connected. Letters were sent to Irving that were thought to be from Mary and he even received a phone call confirming everyone's worst fear, they had been kidnapped. 53 days later, the police would get a call from a female voice saying that she had been abducted and they needed to come rescue her. Sure enough, Mary and Beth were found but when they were asked about Jason, they said he wasn't there. They had only seen him that first day. Who was there abductor you may be thinking? Well it turns out this was a student obsessed with his former teacher.
