Jury Hears Karen Read’s ‘Vodka Soda’ Dateline NBC Interview

Karen Read sat down for an interview with Dateline NBC in 2024.

Now prosecutors are using some of the interview as evidence in her re-trial.

Prosecutor Hank Brennan played more clips from the interview today (Tuesday, May 6, day 10). The first is aimed at refuting the defense theory that the broken cocktail glass found near John O'Keefe's body early on Jan. 29, 2022, came from inside the home of his true killer, Brian Albert.

Read told Dateline NBC that O'Keefe took her vodka soda glass when he left her SUV. Prosecutors will argue in closings that this explains the broken cocktail glass found near his body.
