"I Don't Know How to Express Myself in English" - Here's My Solution:
Problem of not being able to express one’s thoughts and feelings accurately and confidently in English.
Common reasons behind this struggle are limited vocabulary, lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, and insufficient practice.
You can definitely improve your ability of expressing yourself in English. Here are my tips:
1) Role-playing different scenarios to practise and gain confidence in expressing thoughts and feelings - for example 'food ordering'
2) Think in English: Try to deliberately think in English. Thinking in English is very important for being able to speak naturally. Otherwise you end up thinking in your native language and then translating to English. That takes up a lot of time and effort and dulls your speaking and meaning of what you wanted to convey.
3) Journaling: make a habit of writing about your day, your thoughts, your feelings, and events that happened in the day. This will improve your ability to express yourself in English
4) Practice speaking common English phrases and idioms, which can add natural flow to conversations
5) Seek professional tutoring: try taking classes with a certified English teacher or tutor if possible, for structured learning and personalised feedback.
6) Don’t fear mistakes: making mistakes is a part of the learning process and you shouldn't fear them. Some people over-avoid mistakes, which is a big mistake
7) Speak more. Don’t just read, write, listen or watch.
