Bloody Maxwell & Dead Man's Corner, Tales of Chicago's Lost West Side

We continue our exploration of Chicago's near south side by visiting an area known as "Bloody Maxwell" from 1880-1930. We take a look at a building best known for it's cameos on "Hill Street Blues". It's dark history as a real life police station earned it a place on the National Historic Registrar. Walk a half block south you will find a spot that used be known as "Dead Man's Corner'.

If you find this sort of history interesting we you should visit our playlist "Chicago Crime Now & Then". Where you will find clips about the "death corner", Taylor St. area and other windy city hot spots.
We also recommend a couple of other sites for those who wish read more about Chicago's colorful past.    • Chicago Crime Now & Then / Organized ... …
