Daimonzaka
Daimonzaka is one of the most beautiful of the Kumano Kodo routes with its stone pavement and is famous even before it was registered as a World Heritage site.

Nachi Taisya Shrine
This is a special shrine enshrined in Nachisan Nachisan, one of the three Kumano mountains where the gods are said to reside and is registered as a World Heritage site.

○Miagatahikosha Shrine
This shrine is dedicated to the three-legged yatagarasu (three-legged crow) that guided Emperor Jinmu on his way to the land of Yamato.
The three-legged crow is believed to be the messenger of the Kumano God and a deity who guides visitors in the right direction.

Walking through the womb of a giant camphor tree
 Next to the hall of worship is a large 850-year-old camphor tree. The trunk of the tree is hollow, and visitors can hold a piece of gomagi (300 yen) on which they write their wishes and walk through the tree. The inside is warm and gentle.

○Nachi Waterfall
This sublime waterfall has been selected as one of Japan's three great Shinto waterfalls (Shintaki) and one of the three most famous waterfalls (Meibaku). I photographed both in clear weather and in heavy rain. Please also see the precious Nachi Falls in the rain, which took three days before the heavy rain fell.
