I hope you enjoyed our Pikmin playthrough. It's now currently 100% with all three potential endings. Now it's time to finish up our Switch playthrough of Super Mario RPG! We're not quite done yet, but we will be soon!

In this video, we'll be going through Barrel Volcano and fighting Czar Dragon/Zombone, along with another fight with the Smithy Gang. It gets us the 6th Star Piece and puts us one step closer to the end...

CHAPTER 19 - BARREL VOLCANO

I ended the last video falling into the volcano, but I remembered a few things important we can quickly pick up. First, if you go into the house that's to the right of the castle, you'll find Croco inside stealing things. Croco will take off without a fight, but will leave behind the 'Echo Signal Ring'. This is an upgrade from the Signal Ring we already has, as it beeps when close to the hidden item.

If you go into the castle and reach the three door corridor right before the room where we fought Birdo. There will be a hidden treasure here with a Frog Coin. Further ahead, if you go into the King's quarters, the room that previously locked, you'll see a group of rehired castle employees.

One of them is the guy that gave you a key earlier. Talk to him and he'll give you a Flower Jar. Finally, return to the house where we got the Echo Signal Ring, leave and go straight down from there. You'll find a hidden path that leads to Beezo, the Shy Guy gardner. He'll give you some fertilizer to let him go.

In 'Ch. 17', after we fought Smilax, Beezo dropped a letter that contained an item called 'Seed'. Now that we have both the seed and fertilizer, go to Rose Town and speak to the old man in the house in the screen behind the town. Give him both the Seed and Fertilizer and he'll use it to grow a climbable vine. At the top, you'll find two item boxes. One contains the 'Lazy Shell (weapon) and the other contains the 'Lazy Shell' (armor).

The Lazy Shell is actually Mario's best weapon, while the armor can be used by anyone and is quite durable. Now that we have that, we can go back and start Barrel Volcano! In the second screen, there's a path down/right which leads to two Flowers. Backtrack and take the left path. In the next screen, just dodge the baddies if you want.

There's another Flower on the next screen and an item block with some coins. In the following screen, you can get a Super Star to help breeze through. Continue to climb and pass through the subsequent areas. When you see Frog Coins over lava, you'll need to either jump over them or jump a certain way that your reaction to touching lava somehow makes you reach the coin. It's actually not that hard.

There's a monster called a 'Stompillar' that has two parts. Defeat the back part first and the front part will automatically die. There's also a monster called 'Stumpet' that will keep generating 'Magmus'es until you defeat it.

Eventually, you'll run into 'Cinder Toad'. He runs a three-in-one item shop/inn/armor shop. Upgrade your armor to Fire gear if you want. There's a long bridge on the next screen. At the end you'll finally reach the Czar Dragon...

BOSS BATTLE - Czar Dragon/Zombone - (HP - 1400/1800, Weakness - Ice/Lightning)

Mario, Peach and Mallow make a good party here. You can have Peach as a dedicated healer. Give her the Lazy Shell armor. During the first part of the fight, Czar Dragon will be weak against Ice. However, when it changes to Zombone, it's weakness changes to Lightning. Mallow really is the VIP here, as he can use both.

After the fight, you'll go on to the next screen where you find the Sixth Star Piece finally! However, it's immediately snatched away from you by the Axem Rangers. You'll follow them and after a long dialogue, you'll engage them in battle.

BOSS BATTLE -
Axem Red - (HP - 800, Weakness - Ice)
Axem Black - (HP - 550, Weakness - Lightning)
Axem Yellow - (HP - 600, Weakness - Jump)
Axem Green - (HP - 450, Weakness - Ice)
Axem Pink - (HP - 400, Weakness - Fire)
The Blade - (HP - 999, Weakness - Lightning)

This battle may seem daunting, but it's really not so bad. I start by taking out the Pink Axem, as she's the healer. Then the Green one, that group attacks. Followed by the Yellow one that always counters. Then the Black and finally Red.

When you beat all five, you'll have to fight The Blade, who has a strong charge-up attack. With Peach as a dedicated healer with the Lazy Shell, she shouldn't take much damage and be able to cover everyone nicely. Afterwards, you'll finally get the Sixth Star Piece for reals!

After this, we go back to Nimbus Castle. Queen Nimbus suggests we search Bowser's Keep for the last star, while King Nimbus arranges for us to take the 'royal bus' there. Bowser comments on how nice it is to be back. Time to settle this!
