In honor of men's mental health awareness month and seeing the rise of suicidal people, I wanted to talk a little bit about suicide.

It's not a super happy topic, but it's very very important to get the discussion going! I've dealt with suicidal thoughts/ideations for a pretty long time and over the years, I've gotten quite a lot of comments from people so I've picked the most harmful ones I've heard to show you what NOT to say.

The most important thing is to listen with empathy and no judgement because at the end of the day, the greatest way to help a suicidal person is to be there for them. Support them, keep them company if they want, love them, listen to them, just be with them. 🫂

With suicide and mental health in general, there's still a LOT of pushback and stigma around it. So that's why it can be beneficial to talk about it in a casual setting because it takes a bit of the stigma away and helps us realize that this isn't something to ignore.
