Fun fact, as of September 2022, the migrant worker population in Taiwan is 710,000 people. That’s more than the entire population of Yunlin (666,000). 1 out of every 6 migrant workers in Taiwan is based in Taoyuan City. So, we contacted the Taoyuan County government for recommendations on where and when to meet migrant workers. When you go to Taoyuan or Zhongli train station, it feels like you’re in another country without taking a plane ride. The migrant workers in Taiwan come primarily from Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. So, what is their life like in Taiwan?
