The World of Judo

Literally translated, judo means "the way of gentleness". It was developed over 100 years ago by Professor Jigoro Kano in Japan.

Today judo is practiced by millions worldwide and is one of the most popular sporting activities. In fact, judo is the largest sport organization in the world. There are more national federations in the International Judo Federation (IJF) than any other sport.
